Open Graph checker: what does your link look like when shared?

When someone shares your link on LinkedIn, Slack, WhatsApp or X, the preview comes from Open Graph tags. Without them you get a bare URL. ShipPatrol checks your homepage.

Why it matters

A link with a picture and a title gets noticed. A bare URL looks like spam. It takes four tags.

How Patch checks

We look for og:title, og:image and twitter:card tags on your homepage, in the rendered page.

How to fix it

2.

  1. Add these to the <head> of your pages: og:title, og:description, og:image (1200x630 pixels, absolute URL) and twitter:card set to summary_large_image.
  2. Make sure they're in the HTML the server sends, because link-preview bots don't run JavaScript.

Your own report goes further: it names the exact pages, services and settings Patch found on your site, and with a full report you get a fix prompt to paste into Lovable, Bolt or Cursor.

Where this applies

Applies to every site that gets shared.
