Link name accessibility checker: empty and icon-only links

Links with only an icon or an image and no text are announced as just "link". ShipPatrol checks with axe.

Why it matters

Screen-reader users often navigate by listing links. A list of "link, link, link" is no help, and search engines get no clue either.

How Patch checks

We run the axe-core "link-name" rule on your homepage and two other pages.

How to fix it

  1. Give each link visible text, or an aria-label for icon links such as social icons.

Your own report goes further: it names the exact pages, services and settings Patch found on your site, and with a full report you get a fix prompt to paste into Lovable, Bolt or Cursor.

Where this applies

WCAG 2.2 AA is the reference standard.
